Diamondback Tess 24-Inch Girls Mountain Bike

Teenaged girls need not be left behind when the boys go riding up the trails in the park or on nearby hills. They can jump up their Diamondback Tess 24-Inch Girls’ Mountain Bike and run and have fun with the boys.

The Tess mountain bike is made of sturdy steel frame that can withstand all the jolting, jumping, and jarring that mountain bikes are subjected to when riding on trails. A front suspension fork that has a free play of 40 mm absorbs most of these though. This minimizes the vibration reaching up to your grip on the handlebar. The handlebar is a riser type. This means that it is raised to provide a more comfortable position as well as better control.

The grips on the handlebar double as gear shifters. These are Shimano Twist Shifters that quickly and easily control the Shimano derailleurs, with the left shifter adjusting the front and the right moving the rear. Up- and down-shifting is smooth and easy allowing you to quickly shift gears to suit the terrain.

A three-piece crankset with the seven sprockets of the cassette provide 21 gear ratios. This eases pedaling uphill and speeds up riding on flat terrain. Slowing down or stopping a speeding bike is done with alloy linear-pull brakes. With the aluminum alloy wheels providing a rust-free braking surface for the pads, stopping the bike requires only a slight pressure on the brake levers.

The lightweight yet strong aluminum alloy wheels are fitted with knobby tires which provide better grip on muddy and rutted dirt roads. These are versatile tires that are also suited for paved roads.

The Diamondback Tess 24-Inch Girls’ Mountain Bike has a standover height of 24″ making it perfect for young teenagers. The seat post can be adjusted to the most relaxed riding position. A padded saddle further makes long rides comfortable.
