Equipped with a lightweight aluminum alloy frame, coupled with equally lightweight alloy wheel rims, the Mongoose Maxim Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike is easier to pedal on steep climbs than its steel counterparts.
In addition to this, the mountain bike features 21-speed gears that shift smoothly with its SRAM MRX shifters and a Shimano rear derailleur. Whether downshifting when climbing hills or shifting up when you are back on flat terrain, you are assured of responsive gear changing so you won’t be left behind because your chain is always in the proper sprocket. The crankset has three sprockets while the cassette has seven.
The headset of this Mongoose model contains a front fork suspension. A heavy-duty shock absorber attaches the main frame of the bike to the seat stay. This, however, is not really a seat stay anymore because it is not attached to a seat tube, the reason being that there is no seat tube connecting the seat post and the bottom bracket. The seat, which is an ATB anatomical saddle, is supported only by the top tube.
The front and rear suspension systems of the Mongoose Maxim Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike have enough free play to absorb the jarring from rough and rugged trails minimizing the vibration reaching your grip on the handlebar. This suspension system, along with the bike’s large solid tires, is sure to guarantee a comfortable and enjoyable ride not only on trails but also on paved roads.
It has an MTB handlebar and stem where the shifters and the brake levers are mounted. These levers are linked by steel wire cables to alloy linear pull brakes which provide excellent braking.
The Mongoose Maxim Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike is available in two earth colors –green and copper.
